My story takes place in the middle of the night... My little brother & I were watching tv in my room and we got the munchies, so we went to the kitchen to find a snack...When we were in the living room almost to the kitchen, we saw a strange green light flashing across the kitchen when there was no reason for a green light to be flashing. Naturally, this freaked us out a bit, but we figured it was just something outside shining through the window or something. So we continued to the fridge & got some snackies & proceeded to make our way back to my room & continue watching tv.

As we were leaving the kitchen, guess what happened. The same strange green light flashes across the living room! At this point the only thought going through my mind is "ALIENS!!!" cause I'm weird that way, and in my mind, any weird occurance is caused by aliens...
 
So when the light started flashing, I shrieked & yelled "ALIENS!", and we both ran through the house and dove onto my mum's bed & woke her up & told her there were aliens in the kitchen. Naturally, she looked at us like we're completely mental! We told her there was a weird green flashing light in the kitchen & that we thought it was aliens, & we wanted her to come out there & see.

So we managed to drag her out of bed (this is all happening around 3am) and we all went out to the kitchen. As soon as we got there, the strange green light started flashing AGAIN (go figure)!!! My little brother & I both shrieked in fright when it happened, but my mum, being the logical person she is, flipped on the kitchen light, and guess what was causing the strange flashing green light....



My light-up flip flops. They were on the floor just outside the kitchen & I had apparently been accidentally bumping them with my foot every time I walked through there. I felt like such a jackass!!
